Market opened at yesterday’s high and trended up nicely until the Chrysler’s bankruptcy news broke out. A sell-off ensued that took price to yesterday’s close. The rest of the day price oscillated around that level. Volume was a bit above average.

General move today was very similar to yesterday’s but around 10 point higher and without so much choppiness. A new high since mid January was printed at 882.06 but the close was at 873.64. Volume was average
Q1 GDP was worst than expected but the market data-mined a need to rebuild inventories out of the data [...]

Market gaped lower but quickly recovered to yesterday’s close. The rest of the day was a choppy indecisive action around 858. Volume was low.
Government may require C and BAC to raise more capital. April’s CCI number was surprisingly positive. IBM increases dividend by 10 percent and prepares for a stock buyback.
